A story of a photo, Kuwait as seen by me!

الكويت مثل ما انا اشوفها، قصة صورة

That photo was taken by me (DUH!) in January of 2009, I was on the way back home from work when I notice those beautiful clouds around…The good thing I had my camera that day.

صورت هالصورة في يناير 2009، كنت راد البيت من الدوام و لفت نظري شكل الغيم…و كان زين مني يومها اني يايب كامرتي ما اذكر ليش.

I loved it so much to the point where I thought not to share it with anybody, thinking that I might publish it on flickr in February 2010 on Kuwait's national day (but I didn't until I cameback from my trip to Dubai, totally forgot…Remember I have the worst memory ever?)

وايد حاب الصورة لي درجة اني قررت ما اشارك فيها احد، كنت مفكر اني أنشرها في فلكر باليوم الوطني حق الكويت فبراير 2010 بس بوقتها رحت دبي و نسيت و ما نزلتها الا بعد ما رجعت…مثل ما انتوا عارفين ان ذاكرتي اي شي…و اذا لي الحين مو عارفين، الحين صرتوا عارفين.

It was in my HDD for so long, I didn't post process it until June 2009 when I participated in the Second Diplomat Hobbies Exhibition, which was broadcasted on Kuwait TV among other photos (can be watched below).

الصورة كانت في الهارد دسك مدة طويلة، ما اشتغلت فيها لغاية يونيو 2009 لما شاركت في معرض هوايات الدبلوماسيين الثاني و اللي تم بثه على تلفزيون الكويت (تقدرون تشوفونه تحت الا اذا ما تبون تشوفونه و تبوني اذبحكم كلكم).

I think I am cursed!

Whenever I fall in love with a perfume it always gets discontinued?!!

It begun few years ago with Kouros from Yves Saint Laurent, I know it's still in the market but I am talking about the one with the semi transparent bottle which I can not find anywhere anymore.

Few years later, I fall in love with Alessandro Dell'Acqua for men (even the woman's edition smells like heaven), I also made a photo session for the perfume as seen below...And again it was discontinued!

I looked for it in every single place in Kuwait, Dubai and Germany and nothing!

So I decided to find a new alternative and I ended up with Trussardi's Essenza Del Tempo (shown below), and again it was discontinued *aaarrrrrggh*

To some people it's just stupid perfumes, the problem is I get emotionally attached to my things; specifically if they were perfumes, you know how sometimes when you smell something you will remember certain place or mood from the past?

Now I have no idea if I should love a new perfume or it will a death sentance?

I kinda like Issey Miyake's L'eau D'issey Pour Homme, I also love Egoiste from Chanel but I think I should quit loving perfumes and fall in love with something that last forever such as a t-shirt! 

 

غووغل الكويت

من فترة دونت عن شعار غووغل اللي كان المفروض يكون إحتفال بعيد الكويت الوطني و اللي نزل قبل شهر من العيد الوطني الكويتي، بعدها نزلت غووغل اعتذار لشعب الكويت على هالخطأ في مدونة غووغل العربية و ذكروا انهم راح يصممون لوقو يديد حق الكويت بس هالمره بالتاريخ الصحيح، و بجذي الكويت صارت أول دولة يصيرلها لوقوهين من غووغل بمناسبة العيد الوطني مرتين بالسنة الوحدة!

دلاق ميري!

صارلي فترة ما دونت مو عشان ما عندي شي اقوله لأ...عشان لي خلق أسوي شي...

قررت أن أكون من عامة الشعب بشراء البلاك بيري!

كنت و ما زلت أكره البلاك بيري لأنه هبه من هبات الكويتيين، بالضبط بالضبط نفس لزقات ماروكو و تويتي قبل جم سنة اللي كانوا يلزقونهم على السيارات...

الموضوع هذا ذكرني في تلفونات نوكيا أول ما ظهروا عندنا، كان أول تلفون يدعم اللغة العربية و ما كان في يونيكود عربي للموبايلات مثل الحين، و كانت تلفونات نوكيا الأكثر إنتشار مو عشان نوكيا هي أفضل شركة تنتج الهواتف النقالة...لأ، عشان التعريب بس.

شنو الشي اللي مسوي هالخبه كلها على البلاك بيري مع ان صارله مليون سنة نازل و مع أن الآيفون أحسن منه 982376 مره؟

في حالة البلاك بيري، برنامج خاص بالبلاك بيري اسمه (بلاك بيري مسنجر) و يسمونه إختصاراً بي بي أم....و هالبرنامج عبارة عن قرقر واجد ماله داعي و تعاميم إدارية بين الربع و نكت و مادري شنو كله مقابل إشتراك شهري بخدمة داتا 14 دينار كويتي...بمعنى ثاني دز مسجات في البلاك بيري مسنجر كثر ما تبي حتى لو حق تلفونات بلاك بيري دولية.

الحين قاعدين تفكرون ليش أنا إتخذت القرار المصيري بإني أترك التميز إللي أنا فيه كوني مو من مؤيدي البلاك بيري و أكون من عامة الشعب بشراءه؟

السبب لأني في الفترة الأخيرة لما أطلع مع ربعي كلهم قرقه في بلاك بيريهاتهم إلا أنا قاعد بينهم جني خيال مآته (للعرب خيال مآته هو الفزاعة اللي تنحط في المزارع)...فقررت أركب الموجة هذي و آخذ واحد مع إني مو مقتنع فيه و لا راح أقتنع فيه.

Shako?!!

Today in Google Kuwait, they used a doodle showing that it's Kuwait's Independence day...This is really nice of them but Kuwait's Independence day is actually on 25th of February while the liberation day is on 26th of February not 26th of January!

Update (31st of January 2010) Google posts in their Arabic blog about human error and they are going to create a new logo on 25th of February and that would make Kuwait the first country with two different logos!

Movies

So this is my first post in 2010, wasn't in the mood for blogging recently...

Whiteout, never seen a movie which was shoot in the south pole before or ment to be that way...Not bad at all.

The Box, I expected it to be way better since it was by Cameron Diaz...It has a weird concept some people hated it while other thought it's OK.

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, I thought it was going to be worst than what I thought but it surprised me...Nice graphics work too.

The Time Traveler's Wife, almost original movie...I watched it yesterday and it kinda reminds me of  The Lake House but this movie is waaaaaay better (at least to me)...I was sad most of the time during the movie.
